A coffee in honor of Bud Spencer

Article by Michele Sergio Gambrinus

One year after Bud Spencer’s death at Gran Caffè Gambrinus, the book “Thank you Bud” was presented by the young and talented Neapolitan writer Alessandro Iovino. Present for the occasion televisions and newspapers as well as family, friends and fans of the late protagonist of Italian and international cinema.

Many names of the entertainment world and institutions (Catena Fiorello, Andrea Cannavale, Gaetano Sottile, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, Gianni Simioli, Giuseppe Pedersoli), all leave a memory, even before the champion of sport and cinema, man , with its great simplicity, its profound humility and, above all, its enormous humanity. Always on the side of the weak and oppressed, Bud has repeatedly thrown at the bullies, denouncing abuses and overwhelm any level!

The Gambrinus has dedicated a cake and, above all, the “Caffè Bud”, a strong coffee (brown sugar, whipped cream, coffee and chocolate-coated biscuit), for strong men, in honor of the strongest!

Frankly, we hope that this minimal example coming from Gambrinus is only the first of other and more significant manifestations of affection of the city towards one of its great children. It ‘nice to think of an important street or square named after him and even more beautiful to imagine it with a statue of our. Giant Good.

Goodbye Bud!
